We are a team of 4 designers. Although, we are not your typical team and actually we all have different superiors. It would be more suitable to use the term “guild members” as all of us don't work in same teams.
Right now, we actually do almost everything together! Well almost, because Jani sometimes likes to doodle on the walls by himself. The designer stuff we do in our room doesn't always ring a bell for other teams in the office, but we want to work on being more transparent about our work with others. We like to work behind-the-scenes and are quite silent but hard workers!
Behind the curtains we use Adobe CC and Sketch mostly, although we do try other tools and software every once in a while - Whatever works best with the work in process! Regardless of all the digital programs we have at hand, we never forget to make use of good old pen and paper.
What makes our team interesting is our different perspectives - one of us has experience in UX, one does UI and two of us are visual designers. It is a learning experience but an exciting one at that - collaborating with different designers with different backgrounds in the field is the best. As we are quite a diverse group, we welcome all types of people to jump on board with us. We really enjoy our laid-back team spirit and hope our future members will too!
We have a lot of work ahead of us at giosg - probably because the design team is relevantly new. We have been given the chance to do bold overhauls on the company’s visual design and we often get to decide the things we want to work on. And as all of us are kind of new, we are starting from a clean slate. In particular, its rewarding to be able to influence many things and also to notice how other teams, like management, take our work into account.
Overall, no day is the same as another! We get to be challenged and we get to challenge others. There are no juniors or seniors in our team, guild or group - only equals. And we certainly have room for more!
Let’s recruit together and find your next colleague.
