Greetings from the UK! We are a small, but growing team of 5 working in Sales and Marketing, bringing the giosg brand over to Great Britain!
On a daily basis, our sales crew prospect potential customers, set-up meetings and demos, and work on building relationships with existing customers. Our focus is on helping the BPO, eCommerce, property, education and travel sectors successfully engage visitors online. And of course, our UK marketing team supports sales efforts, whether that’s by creating great content, organising events, or researching industry themes. In addition to building the brand in the UK and assisting sales, Marketing works in close cooperation with our central marketing team in Finland to create and deliver a cohesive brand image across all markets.
Although we are all from different places, our office is quintessentially British - we drink lots of tea and our jokes tend to be on the sarcastic / dry side. Everyone is friendly and approachable, and having worked together since the very beginning we have become rather close. With cookies, sweets, Red Bull and Pepsi (some of us will disagree with this choice of cola) as office staples, we pretty much are caffeine and sugar addicts. Oh and there are a ton of amazing food places near our office, so if you're on a diet it's going straight out the window!
Interesting and challenging work drives us and that’s just what we are given. Being a new brand name here in the UK, requires us to do a lot of cold calling and be super strategic with our marketing. At the same time though, it gives us the freedom to to test new innovative ways of doing things and sometimes the crazier it is, the better.
Responsibility is one the best things about working at giosg. Everyone has a say when it comes to important decisions and let's face it, that kind of culture is rare to find. The management team are easy to reach and even though we work quite far away from our head office, we can always rely on teams there assist us when needed - our tech teams in Finland are our go-to helpers!
Our advice to a newcomer would be to be patient with our product! It may require some time to wrap your head around, but it’s super important to know the ins and outs of, but don't worry everyone is happy lend a helping hand if needed. We are a weird, wonderful and open-minded bunch of people with a Finnish company culture - we are transparent, talk freely and believe that words kept to yourself are words lost, in every sense!
