Kasperi started his giosg journey in summer 2018. He was looking for a summer job like any other student and something with giosg caught his eye. Along with he's full-time Computer Science studies in Assumption University of Thailand, he had spent the past six months working on a machine learning project in a research lab (Intelligent Systems Laboratory, ISL) under his faculty.
“I was looking for jobs especially with machine learning opportunities which are quite rare to come by. However, giosg immediately seemed interesting so I applied - and 1,5 weeks later I signed a contract! Since then a summer job has become a permanent job and I couldn’t be happier.”
When he first came to our office he liked what he saw: a new neat office, great atmosphere and free soft drinks in the fridge with giosg stress balls rolling on the floor and tables cooling down overheated tech brains. A cherry on top was our “perky and kind giosg crew and a nice work assignment from the start”, as Kasperi put it.
Kasperi enjoys working with machine learning and finds cracking the complex modelling problems very rewarding. Sometimes the results are positive, sometimes negative, like with any research, but most of the time we find something new regardless of the immediate performance result. He appreciates the motivating team spirit in giosg and says that although people work hard we don’t take things too seriously, but rather keep it light and cool.
“If you are a nerd in spirit, you can’t help but enjoy this work.”
